A drop ball impact tester is used to evaluate how well fragile materials including glass, ceramic, acrylic, and plastic withstand impacts. When the power to the magnetism is cut off, a standard steel ball that has been magnetically adsorbent is released, hitting the specimen from a certain height. The quality of the specimen is then assessed visually to determine the grade of the specimen's impacting endurance. Depending on the specimen's substance, both the weight and the height of the drop can be altered.
